2020 Farm Harvest Skills and Heavy Machinery Scholarship Program Complete

In partnership with our industry sponsors, the Grain Industry Association of Western Australia (GIWA) and Careers in Grain, the 2020 Farm Harvest Skills and Heavy Machinery Program offered through 2 Workin Oz offered 36 partial scholarships for our four-day program. This program was fully subscribed.

The scholarships were developed to encourage Western Australians to secure work in Agriculture in rural locations, and to help meet current shortfalls in employment for the upcoming harvest season.

Thirty-six partial 75% scholarships were offered, valued at $712.00 each, thanks to funding from GIWA and Careers in Grain.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on their commitment to working in agriculture for the upcoming harvest season, demonstrated through a Statement of Intent explaining why they wanted to work in the industry.

The program provided immediate practical and hands-on short course (non-accredited) training opportunities for unskilled seasonal workers currently residing in Western Australia, in time for the 2020 grain harvest.

We would like to thank all recipients for the excellent work ethic, energy and enthusiasm you brought to training and also GIWA and Careers in Grain for your support and making the scholarship training program possible.
