Long term General farmhand position. Flexible Start between July and September ..
This farming enterprise consists of 2800 hectares in high rainfall area of WA. With 2100 cropped. Crops grown are Canola, wheat, barley, lupins and Faba beans.
A growing family farm with a passion for sheep in their system for prime lamb production, they run 4000 Composite ewes plus lambs. Sheep work is minimal as they have a full time Stockman.
A picturesque area of the Great southern in WA with the Stirling Ranges in view and the city of Albany less than 2 hours away. There is plenty for seasonal and permanent staff to do on their days off.
Machinery on the farm is predominantly John Deere and Fendt tractors paired with Claas Headers and Macdon Swathers to complete a modern and efficient line up of machinery.
This position offers the opportunity to learn new skills across the farm and take leadership in specific areas as you grow into your role. Duties
Seeding pasture starts in March following a canola program in April, then cereals usually completed by the end of May.
Harvest in mid-November with potential for small contract of swathing Canola in the Northern wheatbelt
General duties on the farm:
- Machinery maintenance and repairs (work in the workshop)
- operating Machinery during Seeding and Harvest
- Spraying
- Speed tilling and Reefinating
- spreading fertilizer and lime
- fencing
- paddock cleanup
- possibility for sheep work
About the employee
- Preprepared to settle for the longer term – this is not a job for just the 88Days
- A minimum C Class driver’s license required. HR license favorable or prepared to get one.
- Prior experience in Broadacre farming or use of large machinery preferred
- Previous GPS experience preferred.
Job Package
- Meals supplied during Harvest and Seeding.
- Accommodation – house on the farm.
- Rate and complete package above minimum award, superannuation included. potential for negotiation based on performance, experience and qualifications.

Located in the Cranbrook and Kojonup Shires, 350km from Perth in the beautiful Great southern region, where views across the farm feature the Grand Stirling Range as a backdrop. there are no bad viewpoints in this region of WA if you are looking to live in a scenic location.
The farm is just 100km from the Regional City of Albany and the beaches offer an unlimited summer playground that is the south coast of WA. The Stirling Range National park and other smaller parks in the area offer many options for hiking, rock climbing and camping. Mt Barker to the south offers wineries and many boutique cafes and tourist activities for the locals to enjoy also.
