Prime opportunity for a person with a passion for learning and for a career in Agriculture to join this mixed Farming Family business near Narrogin WA.

We are a family run business that has had years of experience in employing staff that enjoy our team environment. We are flexible with working arrangements around family commitments etc. We pride ourselves on running a business that has good clean crops with high input high output agriculture. Our seeding and harvest are organized and as time effective as possible. Our sheep are run on good improved pastures with applicant only expected to have minimal involvement (approx. 20% of workload).

The main role will be general farm duties that relate to the daily running and progression of a Grain and sheep farm. Some experience is preferred but there is also the scope to train a person with the right attitude and goals for their Agricultural career.

The role will Operating machinery for Seeding, Harvest, spreading and spraying Seasons. It will include some sheep work and it will include workshop duties for vehicle maintenance and general upkeep of the farms plant and machinery. A truly mixed role with the opportunity to learn and grow your skills across the whole farm environment.

Start date will be at the earliest agreeable time with the successful applicant. The position is vacant.

The farm

The farm is 2600 hectares, with an additional 800 hectare lease block. The cropping program covers 2400 hectares with the remainder maintained and improved for pastures.

Main crops produced are Canola, Wheat, Barley, Lupins, Oats for grain and hay and Faba Beans.

The business manages approximately 2200 Ewes for Prime lamb and self replacement of flock.

The farm is located just 20 minutes from the town of Narrogin WA.


Main job description

The position is currently Vacant so the start date is on an ASAP basis and in negotiation with the successful applicant. This is a full time permanent position.

The position is responsible for supporting and assisting the Farm owner across several roles including but not limited to:

  • Cropping duties such as: Seeding, Spraying, Spreading, Harvest Preparation, Hay Making, Harvest and Hay Carting.
  • Livestock management and Fencing.
  • General maintenance of equipment.
  • Other farm duties as required.



Skills you need

  • Applicants will need to have a driver’s license and their own vehicle for personal use.
  • Experience in all facets of a mixed farm or willingness to learn.
  • Non- Smoking.
  • Trade skills and MC truck licence would be advantage.
  • Honest, committed, reliable person.

Remuneration is $35 -$50/hr  according to level of experience and qualifications. Plus family home style accommodation, power and water

Accommodation is a 4 x 1 farm house, newly renovated. Just 15 km from Narrogin with School buses to town.


The surrounding community

The local community provides excellent sporting facilities with an indoor aquatic facility, plus Gym, turf hockey field and strong football, netball, tennis and cricket competitions. There are 3 primary schools and 2 secondary schools to year 12, 1 being an Agricultural specialist school. All can be accessed by daily bus services.

Narrogin is also a regional centre with a Coles supermarket all major banks, medical facilities and options for local further education. As a regional centre there is a large selection of other services and businesses. There are work opportunities for family members looking to work within the town.
