Machinery Operator/Livestock (ref#220007)

2 Workin Oz Recruiting

Job Overview

This is a true mixed farm opportunity! Balancing work throughout the year; cropping 5000ha and mating 7000 ewes to merinos and Cross Breeds.

Growing canola and oats, barley, wheat and lupins. The business doesn’t grow any hay. They use  sheep as a rotational tool to control weeds.

Seeding is from mid April to Mid June. With a 24 hour seeding roster. There are support staff constantly around filling trucks, moving machinery and cleaning paddocks, so you’ll never be alone. Everyone has the one goal of getting the crop in the ground properly and efficiently.

Farmhand duties continue on year round so there is the opportunity to stay after seeding. Sheep balance the workload out of seeding and harvest. Further to that they pride ourselves on having a neat and tidy farm and are continually fencing and cleaning up paddocks. Our fencing equipment is modern and very efficient; liken it to operating machinery in that all posts including strainers are rammed into the ground and the ringlock is unwound and strained with a tractor.

A drivers license is required.

Staff are accommodated on farm or in houses owned in the local town.

Submit a CV and we will be in contact to discuss in more detail and arrange interviews.
