The Farm
Broadacre cropping 5600ha across multiple locations at Meckering and North Quairading.
Growing canola, wheat, barley and lupins.
Details of interest
Harvest runs from October – January using late model John Deere S780 harvesters with 749D fronts. They use a current model JD tractor with current model 42t Nyrex chaser bin and 160t Nyrex motherbin.
The typical harvest work hours are 7am-9pm Monday – Friday, 7am-7pm Saturday and take Sunday off.
The business aims to be completed harvest before Christmas.
Skills you need
– No smokers and no drugs.
– The right attitude, character, communication and an ability to learn are a priority.
– The business value their team and the culture they’ve fostered.
– The farm is spread over 2 main areas and will require you to stay at times, away from the primary accommodation (75km away). This is during seeding and harvest and occasionally at other times.
– A driver’s license is essential.
– Farm Experience or trade qualifications are essential.

Pay rate is above the award and will depend on experience and be discussed with the successful applicants depending on position.
Accommodation and work vehicle available.
Meals are supplied during harvest.
Various accommodation types are available. Two out of three accommodations have been recently renovated and have refrigerated air conditioning and heating. All have washing machine and dryer.
What can life after work look like
The main property is 20 minutes from Northam which is probably the largest inland regional centre in the agricultural area. It has 4 supermarkets, 2 shopping centres, many sporting clubs, pubs, doctors and a hospital, amongst other things.
The farm is 90 minutes from Perth (Midland) which offers everything any Australian city does. You will also be close to Meckering and Cunderdin that offer more of a small country town experience.
