Seeder Operator – Wickepin (ref #32233)

This young family owned and run business is looking for a seeding operator for the upcoming season. The owners are happy to teach and upskill those who show potential and are good workers. Flexible with time off out of peak season. Close to all facilities in a great part of the wheatbelt.

The role has a start time of March.

The Farm

Approx. 3000ha – based around Wickepin but have lease blocks at Narrogin, Cuballing and East Wickepin (40km either side of home location).

Quite a bit of travel will be required in the role.

Mostly cropping – Canola, Oats, Hay. The business also runs a few sheep.

Main job description

Seeding work will run from April -May.

Machinery includes:

• NH TJ425 Tractor with Autosteer
• Morris Airseeder bar and box – 60ft – with liquids/Flexi N/SE14 down tube
• Goldacres boomspray on either Massey tractor or Case Magnum
• Marshall Multispreader

The role will include:

• Prep work in March
• Burning dumps
• Speedtiller & stubble crunching

Skills you need

• Driver’s license and own vehicle
• Be self-motivated
• English speaking essential
• Farming experience preferred
• Prefer non-smoking (no smoking in machines)
• While seeding and harvest we require long hours as per most businesses – in non-peak seasons we are very flexible and open to more time off/away as a true casual/seasonal requirement.

What are your rewards

Wages will depend on the applicant.

• Minimum for inexperienced $30.25/hour with scope for increase once/if skills are proven.
• $40/hour for experienced machine operator

Accommodation at no charge if required. Option will be provided depending on applicant
– quarters nearby – basic donga setup
– shared house 40km away – with other local casual workers
– potential housing if family – older style/cottage but can be furnished etc clean and tidy

1 x meal per shift (lunch or dinner) provided at no charge.

Work Vehicle supplied but ideally not for personal use – single cab ute.

Happy to collect shopping/supplies from local town as service if needed – (click & collect you pay).
