Broadacre farm hand – permanent position

The Role
We are a family-owned and operated mixed farming enterprise based near Burren Junction in North West NSW. We are seeking a motivated farm hand to assist us in our 3000 ha broadacre cropping business.
The operation runs using advanced farming techniques incorporating well-maintained John Deere machinery to produce a variety of dryland crops including wheat, chickpeas and faba beans.
We are searching for a passionate person to join this team as a general farmhand that will work across the enterprise with a key focus on assisting the manager with the day-to-day running of the property and cropping procedures. We are happy to hear from applicants with varying skill levels, from entry-level to senior farm hand, however an interest in farm mechanics and maintenance is imperative. Prior experience in a cropping role would be an advantage but a positive attitude and willingness to learn is a must. You will be expected to work in a safe and sensible manner at all times with a strong focus on workplace health and safety.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
• Assisting with various cropping procedures including harvest, sowing, spraying and haymaking.
• General machinery operation.
• Vehicle and machinery maintenance.
• General farm maintenance duties.

An above-award hourly rate, dependant on experience/skill, is offered along with generous overtime rates. Included in the salary package is a well maintained, air-conditioned, 3/4-bedroom, 2 bathroom house with established lawns. There is a great local primary school and preschool with a bus running to the front gate of the property where there is a sealed road. Wee Waa and Walgett are just 75km away with access to a range of services. There is the possibility of casual or flexible employment opportunities for a partner.
