The Farm
Based in Cancanning in the central wheatbelt, the family business manages a 10,000ha mixed cropping and livestock property. Of which 8500ha is a mixed cropping program. Wheat, canola, hay, oats, lupins and barley are all cropped.
The farm also has 4000 head of self-replacing merino.
Details of interest
Harvest is completed using three yellow headers, on controlled traffic. Two chaser bins support the headers, of which this role will be one.
The business use a local transport company to deliver their grain.
Harvest starts in November and runs until January.
Skills you need
- Preference given to non-smoker
- Must have drivers licence and own vehicle.
- Be able to work with others
- To have good communication skills and good English
- To have a basic understanding of guidance systems and auto steering
- To have basic servicing and maintenance skills
- To keep workplace and vehicles clean at all times

Pay rate is above the award and will depend on experience and be discussed with the successful applicant.
Meals are supplied during harvest.
Accommodation is available and there are two options.
Option one is share accommodation in an older style farmhouse. 3 bed two bathroom.
Option 2 is a nice brick 3×1 house. Comfortable and homely. Suited or reserved for staff member with family.
What can life after work look like
Local sporting clubs include football, hockey, netball, tennis, lawn bowls and squash.
There are 6 primary schools to choose from within the area and two high schools.
Coles and Woolworths as well as local grocers are located in nearby towns.
